Issue: Under certain conditions, the joint between the engine coolant temperature sensor housing and coolant pipe could fail. If this happens, coolant could leak while driving. Safety Risk: A coolant leak could lead to a fire in the engine bay. Corrective Action: McLaren will notify owners by mail and advise you to bring your vehicle to a dealership to replace the engine coolant temperature sensor housing and hose. McLaren recommends not to drive your vehicle on a racetrack until the recall repairs have been completed.
Issue: On a small number of vehicles, a defective bolt may restrict fluid pressure to the brake caliper. As a result, there may be no braking on one wheel. If your vehicle has this problem, you may notice reduced braking, or feel the vehicle pull to the left or right while braking. Safety Risk: Reduced braking could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: McLaren will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the brake hose banjo bolt on each brake caliper. The bolts will be replaced, if required.
