Summary
On certain vehicles, a faulty printed circuit board may cause the rear tail lamp / brake lamp bulbs (either left or right side) to fail. Failure of the rear lamps may result in the following road users being unaware of the driver's intentions, as well as reducing vehicle conspicuity during hours of darkness, which could increase the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace both rear tail lamp assemblies.

Summary
MASERATI IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2008-2010 GRANTURISMO AND GRANTURISMO CONVERTIBLE VEHICLES MANUFACTURED FROM JUNE 2008 TO MARCH 2010. DUE TO A FAULTY LAMP ASSEMBLY, THE REAR LIGHTS (BOTH TAIL AND BRAKE) MAY FAIL.
Potential Consequence
TAIL AND/OR BRAKE LAMP FAILURE COULD LEAD TO REDUCED VEHICLE VISIBILITY, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy
MASERATI WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND REPLACE AFFECTED REAR TAIL LAMP ASSEMBLIES FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON FEBRUARY 29, 2012. Owners may contact Maserati customer service at 1-877-696-2737.
STEERING:LINKAGES:TIE ROD ASSEMBLY

MASERATI IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2009 GRANTURISMO AND QUATTROPORTE VEHICLES MANUFACTURED FROM JULY 3, 2008, THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 2008. THE REAR SUSPENSION LEFT-SIDE AND RIGHT-SIDE WHEEL ALIGNMENT TOE-IN TIE- RODS MAY FAIL DUE TO INCORRECT MACHINING.
Potential Consequence
A FAILED TIE-ROD COULD LEAD TO A LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE AFFECTED TIE-RODS, INSTALL A TIE-ROD KIT AND PERFORM A WHEEL ALIGNMENT, FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON SEPTEMBER 9, 2011. Owners may contact Maserati customer service at 1-877-696-2737.
Suspension
Summary
On certain vehicles, the rear suspension tie rods (for alignment toe adjustment) may fatigue and fail. This could result in a loss of vehicle control and a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace both rear suspension tie rods and perform a wheel alignment.
Seats And Restraints
Summary
On certain vehicles, faulty instrument cluster control module software may not allow the seatbelt buckle alarm to activate in the event the vehicle is operated with an unbelted driver and/or passenger seat occupants. Failure to remind the seat occupants to buckle-up would increase the risk of personal injuries or death during a vehicle crash. Correction: Dealers will install updated instrument cluster control module software.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL

MASERATI IS RECALLING 824 MY 2009 GRANTURISMO VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH THE OPTIONAL FRONT PARKING SENSOR SYSTEM. THESE VEHICLES WERE MANUFACTURED WITH FAULTY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE WHICH AFFECTS THE FUNCTIONALITY OF THE SEAT BELT WARNING BUZZER'S ABILITY TO ACTIVATE, THEREBY NOT PROPERLY WARNING WHEN THE SEAT BELTS ARE NOT ENGAGED.
Potential Consequence
IF THE BUZZER DOES NOT SOUND, OCCUPANTS MAY FAIL TO BUCKLE THE SEAT BELTS ADEQUATELY, RESULTING IN GREATER RISK OF INJURY IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH.
Remedy
DEALERS WILL UPLOAD A NEW SOFTWARE INTO THE VEHICLE'S INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CONTROL MODULE UNIT. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING APRIL 2009. Owners may contact Maserati customer service at 1-877-696-2737.
