Issue: On a small number of vehicles, the recall repairs completed by a Ford dealer during recall 25C18 (Transport Canada recall no. 2025-277) may not have been done correctly. As a result, another repair is required. On certain vehicles, the seat belt reminder chime may not sound for long enough when you start the vehicle, and your seat belt is not buckled. Canadian regulations require both a seat belt reminder sound and visual telltale when a driver is not wearing their seat belt. Note: This recall only affects vehicles with a Revel audio system. Safety Risk: A seat belt warning that doesn't work correctly may not remind you to buckle your seat belt. Not wearing your seat belt can increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the audio control module software.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the windshield glass may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, air bubbles could appear in the windshield glass. Safety Risk: Air bubbles in the windshield glass could cause reduced visibility and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the windshield glass.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the trailer hitch bolts may not have been tightened properly. As a result, the bolts could loosen and the hitch could detach from the vehicle. Note: This recall only affects vehicles equipped with the trailer tow package. Safety Risk: A trailer hitch and/or towed trailer that detaches from a vehicle could create a road hazard for others and/or create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, tighten or replace the trailer hitch bolts.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the body control module (BCM) may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the trailer taillights may not work when towing a trailer. Note: This problem could cause a trailer error message to display in the instrument cluster and various electrical systems not to work properly. Safety Risk: Trailer taillights that don't work could make the vehicle less visible to others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the BCM.
Issue: When using the key fob "global close" feature or the LincolnWay mobile application to close the windows, a software problem could cause the window automatic reversal system for the rear windows not to work. If this happens, a rear window may not stop and retract after detecting an object. As a result, the vehicles may not meet certain requirements of Canadian regulations. Safety Risk: A window that closes with too much force could create a risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the body control module software.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the low-pressure fuel pump could fail. If this happens, the engine may run rough or may not start and the check engine light may turn on. This could also result in a sudden loss of engine power while driving. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail. The corrective actions for this recall are under development.
Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image not to display when the transmission is shifted into reverse. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the vehicle is reversing. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that doesn't display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the SYNC software.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the trim for the seat fold switch on the second-row seats may not have been installed properly. As a result, the switch could become stuck. If this happens, the seat(s) could fold and/or move unexpectedly. Safety Risk: A seat that folds and/or moves could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Action: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the seat fold switch trim.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the exterior C-pillar trim(s) and/or window division bar(s) on the rear passenger doors may not be properly attached. As a result, the trim(s) and/or bar(s) could loosen and separate from the vehicle. Safety Risk: Parts that detach from the vehicle could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the C-pillar trims and window division bars.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the recall repairs completed by a Ford dealer during recall 22C35 (Transport Canada recall no. 2022-743) may not have been done correctly. As a result, a second repair is required.
