Certain vehicles equipped with a convertible roof fail to conform to Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 118 – Power-Operated Window, Partition and Roof Panel Systems. The overhead switch (which operates the convertible roof and the power windows) does not operate in the manner prescribed by the Standard. This could result in inadvertent power window activation, which could cause injury if a body part becomes trapped by a closing window. Correction: Dealers will replace the overhead roof console assembly with an updated version.

On certain vehicles equipped with a 5.0L engine, the in-tank electric fuel pump may not be correctly activated following a vehicle start-up cycle. The engine may start and continue to operate as normal until the engine fuel demand exceeds the ability for the pump to supply sufficient fuel. The engine can then cut out without warning. Loss of propulsion, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will reprogram the Engine Control Module.

These are NHTSA campaigns for 2011 Jaguar XK vehicles sold in the United States. They are not Canadian recalls: NHTSA's VIN lookup has no Canadian data, and a US campaign may have no Canadian counterpart, or one under a different number covering different vehicles. For a vehicle sold in Canada, go by the Transport Canada listing above and Jaguar's Canadian VIN lookup.
Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Jaguar) is recalling certain model year 2011-2014 XK convertible vehicles manufactured October 1, 2010, through August 1, 2013. The switch in the overhead roof console also activates the power operated windows when the convertible roof is opening or closing. The switch does not move downward to close the windows. Therefore, these vehicles fail to conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 118, "Power-Operated Window, Partition, and Roof Panel Systems."
The power windows may inadvertently be activated and pinch or injure an arm or finger.
Jaguar will notify owners, and dealers will replace the overhead roof console, free of charge. The recall began on October 1, 2013. Owners may contact Jaguar at 1-800-452-4827. Jaguar's recall number is J030.

2011 Jaguar XK recall questions
Transport Canada lists 2 recalls for the 2011 Jaguar XK model year. That counts campaigns naming this model year, not recalls on your vehicle: many cover only a VIN range or production window, and some only vehicles found on inspection. NHTSA lists 2 United States campaigns for the US-market model, shown separately; a US campaign may have no Canadian equivalent.
Enter your VIN in Jaguar's Canadian recall lookup, or call a Jaguar dealer with your VIN. In Canada the manufacturer is responsible for showing recall and repair status for each VIN, so its lookup is the authoritative answer. Cardog uses your VIN only to find the model year; the recalls shown here are listed for that model year and are not matched to your VIN.
Not necessarily. NHTSA campaigns cover vehicles sold in the United States, and NHTSA's VIN lookup has no Canadian data. When a defect also affects Canadian vehicles, the manufacturer files a separate notice with Transport Canada, often under a different number and sometimes covering a different set of vehicles. For a Canadian vehicle, go by the Transport Canada listing and Jaguar's Canadian lookup.
Safety recall repairs are normally done at no charge by an authorized Jaguar dealer. The manufacturer's notice for each campaign sets out the remedy and any conditions, so confirm with the dealer when you book.
Once Jaguar's lookup or a dealer confirms a recall applies, book the repair with an authorized Jaguar dealer and bring your VIN. If the manufacturer's notice says not to drive the vehicle or to park it outside, follow that instruction. Parts can take time, so book early.
Follow the manufacturer's notice for that recall. Most allow normal driving until the repair; some tell owners to stop driving or to park outside until it is fixed. Cardog does not grade recalls by severity: the manufacturer's notice and your dealer are the source.
Manufacturers must notify owners they have on record. If you bought the vehicle used or have moved, update your details with Jaguar Canada so notices reach you, and check the manufacturer's lookup from time to time.
