Issue: This recall is for certain transfer case assemblies installed during production on certain new vehicles or sold as a replacement part. On a small number of trucks, the transfer case assembly may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the transfer case could fail and cause the front and/or rear wheels to lock up while driving. Note: This recall only affects trucks equipped with four-wheel drive (4WD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). This recall affects transfer case part number 87842227. Safety Risk: Front and/or rear wheels that lock suddenly could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, General Motors advises you not to drive your truck until the recall repairs have been completed. General Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to contact a dealership to arrange for an inspection and, if necessary, a transfer case assembly replacement.

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2026 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Suburban, and Tahoe, and GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles with four-wheel (4WD) or all-wheel drive (AWD), and certain 2015-2020 Suburban, Escalade, Escalade ESV, Yukon, Yukon XL, and Tahoe vehicles. A component missing from the drivetrain transfer case may cause the front and/or rear wheels to lock up without warning to the driver.
Front or rear wheel lockup increases the risk of a crash.
Owners are advised not to drive their vehicle until the remedy is completed. Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the transfer case assembly, free of charge. General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Chevrolet Silverado 3500, and GMC Sierra 3500 vehicles with gasoline engines and dual fuel tanks (RPOs L8T and N2N). The rear fuel pump may not transfer adequate fuel to the front tank, causing an engine stall.
An engine stall increases the risk of a crash.
