Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners in writing and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the vehicle software.

Summary

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Alfa Romeo Tonale and Dodge Hornet vehicles. The display module may not show the rearview camera image. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Potential Consequence

A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's view of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Dealers will update the software or replace the display as necessary free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning May 13, 2025. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's numbers for this recall are 13C and 38C.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the rearview camera may not have been manufactured properly and/or there could be a problem in the rearview camera software. As a result, the rearview camera image may not display. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that doesn't display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners in writing and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the rearview camera software. For certain vehicles, the dealer will also replace the radio assembly.

Canadian regulations require this information to be listed on the labels in both English and French. Corrective Actions: FCA will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the compliance label. Issue: On certain plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models, some connections on the integrated dual charging module (IDCM) and high-voltage ground connections may not have been tightened properly. As a result, the connections could overheat. Safety Risk: An overheated connection could create a fire risk, even while the vehicle is parked and turned off. Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the connections from the integrated dual charging module (IDCM) to the 12 V battery and two high-voltage ground connections. The dealership will replace and tighten them as necessary. FCA Canada advises to park your vehicle outdoors and away from other vehicles or structures until the recall repairs have been completed.
