On certain vehicles operated in areas where road salt and de-icing chemicals are used, if the driver enters the vehicle with a salt/snow mixture on their feet, this could melt and soak the carpet, allowing the salt-water solution to contact the base of the Engine Control Unit (ECU). As a result, the ECU could suffer corrosion damage, which may cause the engine to stall. Engine stalling would result in a loss of vehicle propulsion which, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver’s reactions, could increase the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will install a waterproof cover over the ECU. A damaged ECU will be replaced.

United States records (NHTSA) · 3

These are NHTSA campaigns for 2008 Acura TSX vehicles sold in the United States. They are not Canadian recalls: NHTSA's VIN lookup has no Canadian data, and a US campaign may have no Canadian counterpart, or one under a different number covering different vehicles. For a vehicle sold in Canada, go by the Transport Canada listing above and Acura's Canadian VIN lookup.
