On certain vehicles, the side impact airbags may deploy unexpectedly, without a crash, as the vehicle is started or during normal driving. A driver or right front passenger in the proper driving or seating positions and using safety belts could receive minor injuries, such as bruising, from contact with a deploying side impact airbag. However, a driver or right front passenger that is too close to an inflating airbag could receive more serious injuries. Correction: Dealers will replace the driver and passenger side impact sensing modules.

United States records (NHTSA) · 2

These are NHTSA campaigns for 1997 Cadillac DeVille vehicles sold in the United States. They are not Canadian recalls: NHTSA's VIN lookup has no Canadian data, and a US campaign may have no Canadian counterpart, or one under a different number covering different vehicles. For a vehicle sold in Canada, go by the Transport Canada listing above and Cadillac's Canadian VIN lookup.
