Issue: On certain vehicles, a problem with the electric drive motor software could cause the vehicle to enter a fail-safe mode. If this happens, there could be a loss of power to the wheels. Note: This problem would cause a warning light to turn on and a warning message to be displayed. Safety Risk: A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: BMW will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over-the-air software update to eligible vehicles to update the electric drive motor software. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment to have the update performed at a BMW dealership.

United States records (NHTSA) · 3

These are NHTSA campaigns for 2024 BMW i4 vehicles sold in the United States. They are not Canadian recalls: NHTSA's VIN lookup has no Canadian data, and a US campaign may have no Canadian counterpart, or one under a different number covering different vehicles. For a vehicle sold in Canada, go by the Transport Canada listing above and BMW's Canadian VIN lookup.
