   Issue: On certain vehicles equipped with 4-wheel drive (4Matic), the transmission wiring harness may not be routed correctly. As a result, water could enter the wiring harness connector and cause a short circuit. Note: This recall is an expansion of Transport Canada recall no. 2024-342. Safety Risk: A short circuit can create the risk of a fire, even while the vehicle is parked and turned off. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the transmission wiring harness.

As a result, a second repair is required. On certain vehicles equipped with 4-wheel drive (4Matic), the transmission wiring harness may not be routed correctly. As a result, water could enter the wiring harness connector and cause a short circuit. Note: This recall replaces Transport Canada recall no. 2022-397. Safety Risk: A short circuit can create the risk of a fire, even while the vehicle is parked and turned off. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the transmission wiring harness.

   Issue: On certain vehicles, the bolt for the 48 V ground connection may not have been tightened properly. As a result, the wiring could overheat and melt. Safety Risk: Wiring that overheats and melts can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, tighten the ground connection.

Note: This is an expansion of Transport Canada recall 2023-353. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the fuel delivery module.

As a result, water could enter the wiring harness connector and cause a short circuit. Safety Risk: A short circuit can create the risk of a fire, even while the vehicle is parked and turned off. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the connector on the transmission wiring harness, and repair it if necessary. Additionally, the dealer will install a bracket to improve the routing of the transmission wiring harness.
