Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2022-2025 E-Transit vehicles. The left rear axle half shaft may partially disengage from the power drive unit, which can result in a loss of drive power.
A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash. In addition, a half shaft that is not fully engaged to the primary drive unit can result in a vehicle rollaway if the parking brake is not applied, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
Dealer will inspect and replace the rear half shaft and power drive unit components as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 3, 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25SD9. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on December 15, 2025.

These are Transport Canada campaigns for 2025 Ford E Transit vehicles sold in Canada. A Canadian campaign may have no US counterpart, or one under a different number covering different vehicles. For a vehicle sold in the United States, go by the NHTSA listing above and NHTSA's VIN lookup.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the left-rear axle shaft may not have been installed properly. As a result, the axle shaft splines could wear. If this happens, there could be a loss of power to the wheels. Additionally, if the vehicle is parked and the parking brake isn't applied, the vehicle could roll away. Note: This recall also affects certain incomplete vehicles. Safety Risk: A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. A parked vehicle that rolls away could create the risk of an injury or a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the left-rear axle shaft. If the axle shaft requires replacement, the dealer will also inspect and, as necessary, replace primary drive unit components.

Issue: On certain chassis cab vehicles, water could enter the high-voltage battery and cause a short circuit. Note: This recall only affects certain E-Transit chassis cab vehicles with extended range batteries. Safety Risk: A short circuit in the high-voltage battery can create a fire risk, even while the vehicle is parked and turned off. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Ford advises that you should park your vehicle outdoors and away from other vehicles or structures until the recall repairs have been completed. Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the high-voltage battery. If no damage is found, the dealer will add drainage holes to the side rails of the high-voltage battery tray.

2025 Ford E Transit recall questions
NHTSA lists 1 recall for the 2025 Ford E Transit model year. That counts campaigns naming this model year, not recalls on your vehicle: many cover only a VIN range or production window. Transport Canada lists 2 Canadian campaigns for the Canadian-market model, shown separately.
Enter your VIN in NHTSA's recall lookup or Ford's own, or call a Ford dealer with your VIN. Cardog uses your VIN only to find the model year; the recalls shown here are listed for that model year and are not matched to your VIN.
Not necessarily. Transport Canada campaigns cover vehicles sold in Canada. For a vehicle sold in the United States, go by the NHTSA listing and NHTSA's VIN lookup.
Safety recall repairs are normally done at no charge by an authorized Ford dealer. The manufacturer's notice for each campaign sets out the remedy and any conditions, so confirm with the dealer when you book.
Once Ford's lookup or a dealer confirms a recall applies, book the repair with an authorized Ford dealer and bring your VIN. If the manufacturer's notice says not to drive the vehicle or to park it outside, follow that instruction. Parts can take time, so book early.
Follow the manufacturer's notice for that recall. Most allow normal driving until the repair; some tell owners to stop driving or to park outside until it is fixed. Cardog does not grade recalls by severity: the manufacturer's notice and your dealer are the source.
Manufacturers must notify owners they have on record. If you bought the vehicle used or have moved, update your details with Ford so notices reach you, and check NHTSA's lookup from time to time.
