NOTE: SCHOOL BUSES EQUIPPED WITH BENDIX C-300N STEERING GEAR. DURING LOW SPEED MANEUVERS, A SEAL IN THE STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY MAY LEAK, RESULTING IN A REDUCED LEVEL OF POWER ASSIST OUTPUT. IN ADDITION, SOME OF THESE VEHICLES MAY BE SUSCEPTIBLE TO FRACTURES OF A SNAP RING IN THE STEERING GEAR, WHICH COULD RESULT IN PROGRESSIVE REDUCTIONS IN RIGHT TURN MAXIMUM WHEEL TRAVEL. CORRECTION: VEHICLES WILL BE INSPECTED AND STEERING GEAR WILL BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED AS NECESSARY.

On certain B600 and B700 vehicles, the battery power junction block mounted on the right front fender apron might be susceptible to road splash and corrosion from calcium chloride and sodium chloride. This could result in eventual fracture of the main terminal or other terminals at the junction block causing the loss of vehicle power supply or loss of power to a particular system such as the engine, power steering or hydraulic brake boost. Correction: Dealers will replace the junction block, main power terminal from the starter or starter relay and terminals at the existing block. The hydraulic brake circuit will be modified by bypassing the junction block. New terminals will be made from an alloy material more resistant to salt corrosion.

VEHICLES WERE BUILT WITH A 2.00 INCH MASTER CYLINDER IN PLACE OF THE 1.75 INCH MASTER CYLINDER NORMALLY UTILIZED. THE LARGER MASTER CYLINDER WILL PROVIDE LESS LINE PRESSURE TO THE WHEEL CYLINDERS FOR A GIVEN PEDAL PRESSURE. THIS COULD RESULT IN INCREASED STOPPING DISTANCES AND A POSSIBLE VEHICLE CRASH. CORRECTION: CORRECT 1.75 INCH MASTER CYLINDER WILL BE INSTALLED ON AFFECTED VEHICLES.

1990 Ford B-Series recall questions
NHTSA lists 1 recall for the 1990 Ford B-Series model year. That counts campaigns naming this model year, not recalls on your vehicle: many cover only a VIN range or production window. Transport Canada lists 3 Canadian campaigns for the Canadian-market model, shown separately.
Enter your VIN in NHTSA's recall lookup or Ford's own, or call a Ford dealer with your VIN. Cardog uses your VIN only to find the model year; the recalls shown here are listed for that model year and are not matched to your VIN.
Not necessarily. Transport Canada campaigns cover vehicles sold in Canada. For a vehicle sold in the United States, go by the NHTSA listing and NHTSA's VIN lookup.
Safety recall repairs are normally done at no charge by an authorized Ford dealer. The manufacturer's notice for each campaign sets out the remedy and any conditions, so confirm with the dealer when you book.
Once Ford's lookup or a dealer confirms a recall applies, book the repair with an authorized Ford dealer and bring your VIN. If the manufacturer's notice says not to drive the vehicle or to park it outside, follow that instruction. Parts can take time, so book early.
Follow the manufacturer's notice for that recall. Most allow normal driving until the repair; some tell owners to stop driving or to park outside until it is fixed. Cardog does not grade recalls by severity: the manufacturer's notice and your dealer are the source.
Manufacturers must notify owners they have on record. If you bought the vehicle used or have moved, update your details with Ford so notices reach you, and check NHTSA's lookup from time to time.
