On certain vehicles, the fasteners of the camshaft adjusters could fail due to an assembly problem. If this occurs, this could cause abnormal engine noises, vibrations, illumination of the check engine light and could cause the vehicle to stall, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the fastening screws of the camshaft adjusters and if necessary, replace the camshaft adjuster assemblies.

On certain vehicles, a circlip at the brake pedal hinge may not have been installed at the time of assembly. This could allow the pivot pin to move out of position, which would allow the pedal to wobble, and could fracture the brake pedal pivot through continued use. A fractured hinge would allow the pedal to separate from its pivot, which could lead to impaired brake function and increase stopping distances, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect and add a circlip as necessary.

On certain vehicles, the turbocharger turbine wheel may have been incorrectly manufactured and could fail. Turbine wheel failure would result in a noticeable decrease in vehicle performance. Continued vehicle operation could cause the turbine shaft to also fracture. If the fractured shaft moves out of a bearing, oil may be drawn into the exhaust system, which could result in a fire causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the turbocharger assembly.

These are NHTSA campaigns for 2012 Porsche Cayenne Turbo vehicles sold in the United States. They are not Canadian recalls: NHTSA's VIN lookup has no Canadian data, and a US campaign may have no Canadian counterpart, or one under a different number covering different vehicles. For a vehicle sold in Canada, go by the Transport Canada listing above and Porsche's Canadian VIN lookup.
