On certain vehicles, the control arms may develop material weakness over time. This could affect a vehicle’s handling under extreme driving conditions, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the affected components with parts that have improved long term durability. Note: The vehicles are safe to drive under normal conditions, but Porsche recommends that the vehicles not be driven on race tracks until the recall remedy has been performed.
On certain vehicles, the lower control arms of the front axle may contain a manufacturing defect which could cause the lower control arms to crack. A crack in the lower control arms could impair vehicle handling during spirited driving which could increase the risk of crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the lower control arms with new updated parts. Note: Porsche recommends to customers that the vehicles not be driven on race tracks until the recall remedy has been completed.
On certain vehicles, in the event that the seat belt mount and seat belt reel attachment bolts were removed during servicing, they may have been reinstalled in the incorrect location due to an error in servicing literature. This could weaken the seat belt attachment points and potentially allow separation in a crash, increasing the risk of injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will inspect the screws and replace if necessary.
On certain vehicles, the wiring harness for the left rear radiator fan may make contact with a carbon fiber heat insulation plate. This could cause chafing of the wiring harness which could lead to an electric short, increasing the risk of fire resulting in injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect, secure and repair the wiring harness if damage is found.
On certain vehicles, front control arms may not meet specifications and could break, affecting vehicle control. This could increase the risk of injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace affected control arms.
