Summary

Issue: On certain cars equipped with a 2.0 L T-GDI engine, an engine compartment fire could occur while driving. Kia believes that a fire could start in or near the brake Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit (HECU). Note: This recall does not affect vehicles equipped with Smart Cruise Control (SCC). Safety Risk: The car could catch fire while driving. Corrective Actions: Kia will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to install a new fuse kit. The kit contains two new fuses of 25A instead of 40A, which are designed to prevent an over-current condition. Note: You may have received a notice from Kia in December 2020 to advise that your vehicle was not part of this recall, however this is a NEW recall expansion. Contact Kia Canada or your local dealer if you have any questions about this recall.

Summary

Issue: On certain vehicles, the tire inflation pressure label lists the wrong cold tire pressure for the front tires (36 psi/250 kPa instead of 38 psi/260 kPa). Canadian regulations require that the recommended cold tire inflation pressure for the front, rear, and spare tires is listed on the label. Safety Risk: This small error does not affect vehicle safety. Corrective Actions: This is not a recall. Kia has made changes to ensure that all new vehicles have corrected tire inflation pressure on the label.
