Issue: On certain vehicles, the jam nut for the steering stopper bolt on the left-front knuckle may loosen and allow the bolt to back away from the knuckle. This could result in an increase in the turning radius of the vehicle in left turns. A change in turning radius could make it difficult to make sharp turns. Note: This recall replaces V1902 (Transport Canada recall 2019-306). Vehicles that were repaired under that recall also require this repair. Safety Risk: If a vehicle's turning radius is increased, there could be an increased risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the jam nuts on the steering stopper bolts with new Spiralock nuts. The bolts and extensions will also be cleaned and/or replaced, as necessary.

Issue: On certain trucks, the wire harness from the relay box was not properly routed. As result, the wire harness could be damaged by contact with the leaf spring hanger bracket. If this happens, the engine could stall. This can also cause the anti-lock brake system (ABS) not to work properly. A damaged wire harness could also cause a short circuit. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of engine power could create the risk of a crash. Additionally, a loss of ABS could also increase the risk of a crash. In addition, a short circuit could create the risk of fire. Corrective Actions: Isuzu will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the wire harness for damage. If necessary, it will be replaced. Additional clamps will be installed to move the harness away from the leaf spring hanger bracket.

Isuzu Technical Center of America, Inc. (Isuzu) is recalling certain 2018-2021 FTR and Chevrolet 6500XD vehicles. The ground cable connecting the starter motor to the vehicle frame may break at the starter-side eyelet, resulting in an engine no-crank or slow-crank condition, causing the vehicle not to start.
If the cable is broken and repeated attempts are made to start the vehicle, the starter may ground through the steel braiding of the power steering hose, allowing it to heat up and possibly rupture, increasing the risk of a fire.
Isuzu and Chevrolet will notify their respective owners and dealers to replace the ground cable and to inspect and replace the power steering hose is damage exists, free of charge. The recall began October 9, 2020. Isuzu owners may contact the Isuzu Customer Relations at 1-866-441-9638 and Chevrolet owners may contact the GM Medium Duty Truck assistance line at 1-800-862-4389. 2020 Isuzu Ftr recall questions
Transport Canada lists 4 recalls for the 2020 Isuzu Ftr model year. That counts campaigns naming this model year, not recalls on your vehicle: many cover only a VIN range or production window, and some only vehicles found on inspection. NHTSA lists 6 United States campaigns for the US-market model, shown separately; a US campaign may have no Canadian equivalent.
Enter your VIN in Isuzu's Canadian recall lookup, or call a Isuzu dealer with your VIN. In Canada the manufacturer is responsible for showing recall and repair status for each VIN, so its lookup is the authoritative answer. Cardog uses your VIN only to find the model year; the recalls shown here are listed for that model year and are not matched to your VIN.
Not necessarily. NHTSA campaigns cover vehicles sold in the United States, and NHTSA's VIN lookup has no Canadian data. When a defect also affects Canadian vehicles, the manufacturer files a separate notice with Transport Canada, often under a different number and sometimes covering a different set of vehicles. For a Canadian vehicle, go by the Transport Canada listing and Isuzu's Canadian lookup.
Safety recall repairs are normally done at no charge by an authorized Isuzu dealer. The manufacturer's notice for each campaign sets out the remedy and any conditions, so confirm with the dealer when you book.
Once Isuzu's lookup or a dealer confirms a recall applies, book the repair with an authorized Isuzu dealer and bring your VIN. If the manufacturer's notice says not to drive the vehicle or to park it outside, follow that instruction. Parts can take time, so book early.
Follow the manufacturer's notice for that recall. Most allow normal driving until the repair; some tell owners to stop driving or to park outside until it is fixed. Cardog does not grade recalls by severity: the manufacturer's notice and your dealer are the source.
Manufacturers must notify owners they have on record. If you bought the vehicle used or have moved, update your details with Isuzu Canada so notices reach you, and check the manufacturer's lookup from time to time.
