Certain medium duty tilt cab trucks equipped with manual transmissions. Some of these vehicles have a condition in which the clutch master-cylinder pushrod end that attaches to the clutch pedal pin can wear prematurely. The first noticeable effect of this wear could be the clutch pedal not returning completely to the full-up position. If this occurs, the fast-idle engine speed control may not function. If the clutch master-cylinder pushrod end wears sufficiently to allow the attaching end to bend open or break off, the pedal pin would detach from the clutch rod link and the clutch would engage. If clutch engagement occurred while the vehicle was stopped, with the engine running and the transmission in gear, and if the brakes were not applied, the vehicle could move forward if the transmission were in a forward gear, or rearward if the transmission were in a reverse gear. Correction: Dealers will install a new clutch master-cylinder assembly and clutch pedal assembly.

Certain heavy duty trucks and school bus chassis equipped with tie rod assemblies containing 24-DL model ball sockets and manufactured by TRW. Certain of the tie rod ball-socket bearings have a below-specification case depth and/or hardness, which can lead to premature wear of the socket. If this condition occurs, the driver can lose partial control of the right front wheel, possibly resulting in a crash. Correction: Dealers will replace the defective ball sockets and/or drag links.

Certain trucks may experience unwanted temporary ABS activation at low speeds. If this occurred when minimum stopping distance was required, it could result in a vehicle crash. Correction: Dealers will replace the air brake ECU module and inspect the cable and wire for proper routing.

1999 GMC T70 recall questions
Transport Canada lists 3 recalls for the 1999 GMC T70 model year. That counts campaigns naming this model year, not recalls on your vehicle: many cover only a VIN range or production window, and some only vehicles found on inspection.
Enter your VIN in GMC's Canadian recall lookup, or call a GMC dealer with your VIN. In Canada the manufacturer is responsible for showing recall and repair status for each VIN, so its lookup is the authoritative answer. Cardog uses your VIN only to find the model year; the recalls shown here are listed for that model year and are not matched to your VIN.
Not necessarily. NHTSA campaigns cover vehicles sold in the United States, and NHTSA's VIN lookup has no Canadian data. When a defect also affects Canadian vehicles, the manufacturer files a separate notice with Transport Canada, often under a different number and sometimes covering a different set of vehicles. For a Canadian vehicle, go by the Transport Canada listing and GMC's Canadian lookup.
Safety recall repairs are normally done at no charge by an authorized GMC dealer. The manufacturer's notice for each campaign sets out the remedy and any conditions, so confirm with the dealer when you book.
Once GMC's lookup or a dealer confirms a recall applies, book the repair with an authorized GMC dealer and bring your VIN. If the manufacturer's notice says not to drive the vehicle or to park it outside, follow that instruction. Parts can take time, so book early.
Follow the manufacturer's notice for that recall. Most allow normal driving until the repair; some tell owners to stop driving or to park outside until it is fixed. Cardog does not grade recalls by severity: the manufacturer's notice and your dealer are the source.
Manufacturers must notify owners they have on record. If you bought the vehicle used or have moved, update your details with GMC Canada so notices reach you, and check the manufacturer's lookup from time to time.
