Corrective Actions: General Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to replace the contact cover for the sliding rear window. The dealer will also update the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) software, if necessary. If the rear window or sliding glass assembly are damaged, they will be replaced.

Safety Risk: A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: General Motors will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect the rear fuel tank and fuel pump module, and replace them if necessary. The dealer will also add a fuel tank vent hose.

Issue: On certain 3500 series trucks, the level sensor in the front fuel tank may malfunction. In rare cases, the front fuel tank may over-fill and expand, causing it to contact the driveshaft. Note: This problem only affects cab and chassis models equipped with a gasoline engine and dual fuel tanks. Safety Risk: Leaking fuel, in the presence of an ignition source, creates the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail. Owners will be instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to have the rear-tank fuel-pump module replaced. Dealers will also inspect the front tank and replace if necessary.

Certain double-cab pickup trucks equipped with a manual passenger side frontal airbag “ON/OFF” switch may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (CMVSS) 209 – Seat Belt Assemblies. The front passenger seat belt retractor assembly may not be equipped with the correct torsion bar. If the front passenger airbag is manually turned off and inadvertently left off with an adult in the front passenger seat, this condition could increase the risk of injury to the front passenger in the event of a crash. Correction: For unsold vehicles, dealers will replace both the driver and passenger retractors, and for sold vehicles, dealers will replace the passenger retractor.

When a defect also affects Canadian vehicles, the manufacturer files a separate notice with Transport Canada, often under a different number and sometimes covering a different set of vehicles. For a Canadian vehicle, go by the Transport Canada listing and GMC's Canadian lookup.
Safety recall repairs are normally done at no charge by an authorized GMC dealer. The manufacturer's notice for each campaign sets out the remedy and any conditions, so confirm with the dealer when you book.
