Summary

Issue: On certain trucks, the repairs completed by a General Motors dealer during recall N192220470 (Transport Canada recall no. 2019-325) or customer satisfaction program no. N192270330 may not have been completed properly. As a result, a second repair is required. Additionally, certain trucks may not have had the updated parts installed during production. On certain trucks equipped with a power sliding rear window, the rear defroster wiring could overheat and melt. Safety Risk: Wiring that overheats and melts can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: General Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to replace the contact cover for the sliding rear window. The dealer will also update the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) software, if necessary. If the rear window or sliding glass assembly are damaged, they will be replaced.

Summary

Issue: On certain trucks equipped with a diesel engine and dual fuel tanks, the rear fuel pump may not transfer enough fuel to the front tank. If this happens, you may notice an engine hesitation and the check engine light may turn on. The engine could also stall suddenly while driving, and you may not be able to restart it. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: General Motors will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect the rear fuel tank and fuel pump module, and replace them if necessary. The dealer will also add a fuel tank vent hose.

Safety Risk: A short circuit could cause damage to engine components and create the risk of a fire. Summary

Issue: On certain 3500 series trucks, the level sensor in the front fuel tank may malfunction. In rare cases, the front fuel tank may over-fill and expand, causing it to contact the driveshaft. Operators may hear a grinding or knocking noise if this happens. This could create a hole in the tank and cause a fuel leak. Note: This problem only affects cab and chassis models equipped with a gasoline engine and dual fuel tanks. Safety Risk: Leaking fuel, in the presence of an ignition source, creates the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail. Owners will be instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to have the rear-tank fuel-pump module replaced. Dealers will also inspect the front tank and replace if necessary.

Summary

Certain double-cab pickup trucks equipped with a manual passenger side frontal airbag “ON/OFF” switch may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (CMVSS) 209 – Seat Belt Assemblies. The front passenger seat belt retractor assembly may not be equipped with the correct torsion bar. If the front passenger airbag is manually turned off and inadvertently left off with an adult in the front passenger seat, this condition could increase the risk of injury to the front passenger in the event of a crash. Correction: For unsold vehicles, dealers will replace both the driver and passenger retractors, and for sold vehicles, dealers will replace the passenger retractor.
