On certain vehicles equipped with Bose audio systems that have separate speaker amplifiers mounted behind the rear seat back. Under high ambient temperature conditions, the amplifier circuit board could develop a short circuit due to electrolyte leakage from a capacitor mounted on the board. If a short circuit occurs, one or more transistors could overheat causing smoke or the possibility of an amplifier fire. Correction: Dealer will replace the amplifier circuit board on affected vehicles.
On certain vehicles, the platic front seatbelt release buttons may break allowing plastic pieces to fall into the buckle assembly. If this should happen, a no latch, false latch or failure to unlatch condition could occur creating the risk of personal injury in the event of a crash or sudden stop. Correction: Front seatbelt buckles will be repaired or replaced as necessary.
THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WAS PRODUCED WITHOUT IGNITER MATERIAL, WHICH WOULD RESULT IN NON-DEPLOYMENT IN A CRASH. NOTE: VEHICLE LOCATED IN QUEBEC, VIN: JH4KA7677NC801211. CORRECTION: THE AIR BAG HAS BEEN REPLACED.
DURING A MINOR FRONTAL COLLISION, THE ENGINE WILL ROCK FORWARD ON THE ENGINE MOUNTS. ALTHOUGH THERE MAY BE NO VISIBLE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE, THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE BRACKET MAY BE DAMAGED AND THE SHIFT LEVER INDICATED POSITION MAY NOT MATCH THE TRANSMISSION GEAR POSITION. THIS COULD RESULT IN UNANTICIPATED MOVEMENT OF THE CAR WHICH COULD LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT. CORRECTION: TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE WILL BE REPLACED WITH A LONGER CABLE AND ATTACHING HARDWARE.
