On certain vehicles, the front lower control arm ball joints could experience a loss of lubrication, which could eventually allow the knuckle to separate from the lower control arm while the vehicle is in operation. A ball joint separation could possibly result in a loss of directional control. Correction: Dealer will replace both front lower control arm ball joints.

Summary

On certain vehicles, aluminum castings used in the manufacture of the vehicle frame may have missed the required heat treatment operation resulting in soft frame castings. Soft frame castings may fracture under expected vehicle operation conditions. If a casting were to fracture, it could compromise vehicle handling or result in a loss of vehicle control and a possible crash without prior warning. Correction: Vehicles will be inspected for soft sub-component frame castings. Owners of vehicles found to have soft frame sub-components will be offered a replacement vehicle.

The brake system indicator lamp circuit does not contain the required ground circuit to illuminate the lamp in the event of a brake system hydraulic malfunction. IF THE BULBS FALL OUT, THE DISPLAY MAY BE DIFFICULT TO READ. CORRECTION: THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ASSEMBLY WILL BE REPLACED WITH A CLUSTER THAT HAS BULBS THAT HAVE BEEN PROPERLY TWIST LOCKED IN PLACE.
