On certain vehicles, the hood ornament's retracting mechanism may become corroded. This may lead to the hood ornament not retracting as intended when a vehicle is involved in a crash, and may increase the risk of injury to a pedestrian if struck. Correction: Dealers will replace the retractable mechanism.

Summary

On certain vehicles, fuel vapors stored in the vehicle's evaporative emission control system could enter a body cavity behind the rocker panel on the driver's side. If vapor is emitted and collects in the cavity, the resulting air/vapor mixture could be ignited if the central window operating mechanism is activated. Correction: Dealers will install a plated mild steel extension pipe to the leak detection filter of the vehicle which will ensure that any vapor emanating from the evaporative emission control system is vented to the outside.

THESE VEHICLES ARE EQUIPPED WITH A TRUNK MOUNTED BATTERY. THERE MAY BE INSUFFICIENT CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE BATTERY CABLE AND THE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT SIDE CARPET FLANGE. THIS COULD EVENTUALLY CAUSE WEAR OF THE CABLE INSULATION, POTENTIALLY RESULTING IN A SHORT CIRCUIT, LOSS OF ELECTRICAL SUPPLY, OR FIRE. CORRECTION: BATTERY CABLE WILL BE REPOSITIONED AND ANY DAMAGED CABLES WILL BE REPLACED.

THE INTEGRATED HYDRAULIC BRAKE AND LOAD LEVELLING SYSTEM ON THESE VEHICLES FUNCTIONS BY MEANS OF PRESSURIZED MINERAL OIL. CHARACTERISTICS OF CERTAIN BATCHES OF HYDRAULIC SYSTEM MINERAL OIL MAY AFFECT THE OPERATION OF THE DISTRIBUTION VALVES. WHEN THIS OCCURS, BRAKE PEDAL FEEL MAY VARY, ESPECIALLY FOLLOWING A PROLONGED PERIOD OF INACTIVITY. HIGHER PEDAL EFFORT MAY BE REQUIRED UPON INITIAL APPLICATION OF THE BRAKE IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE DESIRED BRAKING PERFORMANCE. CORRECTION: MINERAL OIL WILL BE CHANGED.

A WIRE INSIDE THE ELECTRIC MOTOR DRIVEN GEARBOX ACTUATOR MAY COME INTO CONTACT WITH THE INNER FACE OF THE ASSEMBLY CASE, CAUSING FRETTING OF THE WIRE AND ALSO CAUSING THE FUSE PROTECTING THE CIRCUIT TO BLOW IF THIS OCCURS IT WOULD NOT BE POSSIBLE TO ENGAGE THE DESIRED GEAR RANGE AND MAY NOT BE POSSIBLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AFTER THE ENGINE HAS BEEN SWITCHED OFF. IF "PARK" IS NOT ENGAGED AND THE DRIVER DOES NOT APPLY THE PARKING BRAKE, A ROLL AWAY COULD OCCUR. CORRECTION: AFFECTED WIRE WILL BE REPOSITIONED.
