Issue: On a small number of vehicles, the bolts that attach the driver's seat cushion frame may not have been properly tightened. As a result, the bolts could loosen, and the seat could move or detach in a crash. Safety Risk: A seat that moves or detaches could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Action: Honda will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the driver's seat cushion frame.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the steering gearbox may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, there could be a sudden change in steering feel and an increase in steering effort. Safety Risk: A sudden change in steering effort could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Honda will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to add grease to the steering gearbox and replace the electronic power steering spring.
On certain passenger vehicles, the passenger air bag module was not properly welded and may not deploy in a collision. The seat occupant may not be properly protected in the event of a collision, increasing the risk of personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the passenger air bag module.
On certain vehicles, the platic front seatbelt release buttons may break allowing plastic pieces to fall into the buckle assembly. If this should happen, a no latch, false latch or failure to unlatch condition could occur creating the risk of personal injury in the event of a crash or sudden stop. Correction: Front seatbelt buckles will be repaired or replaced as necessary.
On certain vehicle equipped with an automatic transmission, the retaining clip that connects the transmission shift cable to the shift lever actuating rod may come off after repeated shift lever operation. If this happens, the position of the shift lever may not match the actual transmission gear position. This could result in unanticipated vehicle movement which could lead to a crash. Correction: Retaining clip will be replaced with one that has greater retention pressure.
VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A PYROIL ACCESSORY IN-HOSE ENGINE HEATER MAY EXPERIENCE ENGINE HEATER MALFUNCTION, RESULTING IN OVERHEATING OF THE IN-HOSE HEATER AND POTENTIAL ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIRE. CORRECTION: IN-HOSE HEATER WILL BE REPLACED WITH AN EXTERNAL ENGINE BLOCK HEATER.
