Issue: On certain vehicles, the recall repairs completed by a Ford dealer during recall 18S07 (Transport Canada recall no. 2018-129) may not have been done correctly. As a result, a second repair is required. Note: This recall only affects vehicles equipped with a 1.0 L or 1.6 L engine and a manual transmission. On certain vehicles, repeated clutch slipping could cause the pressure plate to fracture. If this happens, transmission fluid could leak onto hot components in the engine compartment. Safety Risk: Oil that leaks onto hot components can create the risk of a fire. Additionally, an oil leak could create a hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the system software to detect and prevent prolonged clutch slip.

As an interim repair, Ford will advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to install a fuse block for the battery energy control module. The dealer will also update the BECM software. When the final repairs are available, Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the high-voltage battery.
