On certain B600, F600 and P800 vehicles, engine resonance can cause elevated stress conditions and a fatigue failure of the accelerator return springs. A failed return spring could result in the engine not fully returning to idle when the accelerator pedal is released. Correction: Accelerator return springs will be replaced with a torsion spring design.

In some cases the wear may result in the cable jamming in the damaged swivel, which could prevent the governor lever from returning to the idle position. Correction: A revised governor lever with a stainless steel swivel will be installed on affected vehicles.

These are NHTSA campaigns for 1993 Ford F Series vehicles sold in the United States. They are not Canadian recalls: NHTSA's VIN lookup has no Canadian data, and a US campaign may have no Canadian counterpart, or one under a different number covering different vehicles. For a vehicle sold in Canada, go by the Transport Canada listing above and Ford's Canadian VIN lookup.
